What kind of life are you looking to create?

I remember growing up in the Bronx NY as a little kid up until the age of 11 1/2, and feeling like I was all alone with hardly any family.    I graduated 6th grade that year and during that summer, we moved to Forest Hills, NY.  My whole life changed after that move, even though it was just a relocation from one borough to another one in NY.  The neighborhood is still to this day beautiful and clean with lots of interesting people.

Forest Hills is much more affluent, and has more professionals living there compared to my neighborhood in the Bronx during that time.  It was 1975, when we moved to Forest Hills, and it was a big change for me because I was starting 7th grade at Halsey Jr. High School.  I remember feeling nervous because I did not know anyone and was always a quiet child in the back of the class.  I really had to learn to meet new kids in a different location and get used to the neighborhood too.  It actually took me 3 years to feel comfortable and adjust to everyone there. So this was my very first life CHANGE or TRANSFORMATION!

Change can be as scary or dramatic as we make it!  Ever since 1975, I have made tremendous amounts of transformations in my life.  Since I did not have such a great relationship with my mother, I am grateful to a long term neighbor around the block from my mom's apartment in Forest Hills during those years because his family encouraged me to go to college.  My mother always told me that I don't belong in college and just go find some kind of job.  So my friend, J.A. took me out to lunch one day and told me it is very important for me to go to college.  He knew how I was growing up and felt bad for me.  It was a hard time for me at age 16, and I had to strengthen myself to go to college the following year.  I love college until today.  I enjoyed all of my courses and friends during those days.  So I went to middle school, high school, and then college.  I still did not have a career in mind, but I always love to travel.

I worked in quite a few jobs during my teens and through college, then I started my career in the Travel industry within cruises and hotels.  I realized after college at my graduation in June 1988 that I finally finished my B.A., had a job and thought it was now time to start a family of my own.

However, the part I did not yet talk about here is that I come from a broken home and my mother was divorced.  I was raised with my mother and older brother.  It was a very difficult time for me growing up with abuse and anger all the time.  There was lots of arguing, yelling and fighting in my home most of the time.  I had no father in my life because he never came to see me.  So I never knew what it was like to have two parents together.  It is really amazing how I got to be where I am today with all the painful memories and upbringing I endured growing up.  How was I supposed to find a husband without having an example in my own home of a healthy loving relationship?

During my college career, I remember dating guys, but I was not sure about developing a committed relationship that would lead to marriage.  I started to read all kinds of books on dating, relationships and marriage.  I really did not exactly know what marriage consisted of in order to have a loyal happy relationship.  I am so grateful for a couple of friends that I had in my early years in High School because their parents are so happily married, and that is exactly what I needed to see in my life.  They were always holding hands.  Oh yes!  I am still a romantic kind of person and very sentimental too!

I also had a friend in college for 3 years that is from Israel and her parents are still happily married until today.  I always saw them together at home and at work too.  You can see the love and strength in their marriage.  So yes, I am so grateful for having these friends in my life while I was thinking about meeting my husband.  It took me from age 24 - 34, ten years to find my husband.  I was interested in getting married ever since I was 17 because I enjoyed my little babysitting jobs and being with all kinds of families.  I did not have my own family and knew I must create one of my own one day.

So all of these memories in my life and moments of realizing the different ways I went about acheiving each goal, lead me to become a wife, a mother and a professional relationship coach.  My Transformations are real and deep.  It is not easy going through all of the triumps and tribulations that I have had to overcome.  The careers I had, skills I obtained, and a process to overcome all the painful feelings I hold until today.  I still keep going through more and more obstacles.  It is important to challenge yourself with lots goals.

Life is like a Roller Coaster!  I remember watching Brian Tracy saying in one of his videos that we all go through one crisis, come out of one, then go into another.  I believe that God is just pushing us as far as he thinks we must go to develop our strength of character.  Each day is another one of his Tests!

Give me the pleasure of teaching you how to transform your own life for a better future!

Manifest a Beautiful Life!

Why does Happiness help YOU Manifest good things in Life?

  • 1. We feel love, joy, and positive emotions.
  • 2. People feel our energy and want to be around us more.
  • 3. Negative feelings subside, and we forget the stress as well as sadness.
  • 4. Being around fun people and doing enjoyable activities in life bring more excitement as well as peace of mind in mundane routines.

What happens when we dance?  We feel so happy and full of excitement.

Do you know what happens in our brain when we feel really good?

There are chemicals in our brain that occur when we are emotional in all ways: happy, sad, angry, frustrated, excited, loved etc.

Here is one of the chemical reations, according to an article by Debbie Hampton - The Brain Possible!

Dopamine

Dopamine motivates you to take action and encourages the persistence required to meet your needs, seek reward, or approach a goal – whether it’s a college degree, a sugar fix, the next level in a video game, or money to pay the bills. The anticipation of the reward is actually what triggers a dopamine good feeling in your brain causing it to release the energy you need to move towards the reward. Then, you get another pleasure hit when you successfully meet the need.

NO!  It is not a DRUG!  LOL  If you simply have a goal in mind that you really want to acheive, then write it down and take action towards it.  How does that feel?  It feels like a challenge, which is good.  It is exciting and takes effort to plan your ACTIONs to reach it!

When we have a goal in mind, and it is including the same fun we experience before reaching the actual goal, then the process feels great.  So we go ahead and use our imagination first, like teaching Zumba to an entire class that loves the music.  We think about dancing Zumba as if we are having a great big party, even though it is just for one hour.  Yes, it is a Fitness class, but we think of it as lots of fun and getting people moving their bodies.  So many people I met have lost lots of weight, just by dancing Zumba. It is all about having so much fun and feeling happy.

If we love something so much and have so much fun doing it, then why not offer it to others.  So we start to look for a network of ZUMBA lovers that can help with reaching that goal of teaching different classes.

In other words, we start to feel our passion towards our dream of teaching Zumba and making people happy.

Therefore, we are manifesting the love for dancing zumba, teaching it to others and making it into a party for lots of people!  So the happiness comes from not only producing our own fun, but by transfering that same excitement to others that love to dance.

Well, I love dancing Zumba each day not only for exercise, but pure pleasure.  I feel the music, the beat, the excitement, the memories of dancing salsa, merengue and cumbia as a teenager.  I remember having so much fun going to dance clubs in my 20's.  So yes, I do have that little wild streak in my personality.  I just love to dance, ever since I was a little girl.  It is so exciting to listen to latin music: salsa, merengue, cumbia etc.  It is merely a happy expression of enjoying myself alone or in public, and I am not afraid.

Would'nt you like to manifest wonderful things in your life?

Are you Dependable? Reliable? Trustworthy?

Are you Dependable? Reliable? Trustworthy?

I am thinking of lots of people out there that don't respond to their emails, send feedback on articles or blogs they read or even their ability to communicate their thoughts about different situations in relationships.  Why am I writing about this today, Tuesday 3/8/2017?

Every single one of us has lots of challenges in life: Relationships, Family, Career, Children, Dating, Fitness, Weight loss/gain, Finance and so much more.

When we share our feelings with other people or friends that we know, then usually those situations are much more clear.  The clarity gives us more ideas as to ways we can help others by helping ourselves.

Last week, I went to downtown San Diego in the Gaslamp quarter during an event: Mardi Gras, I met a young woman who started to talk to me about her relationship with her spouse.  She mentioned that she needs some help because she is married just a short time to her husband.  So I did mention to her that it would be my pleasure to meet with her one day because I am a relationship coach.  I gave her my phone number for her to contact me at her convenience.  I guess life got in the way, until I actually received a text later on that Friday afternoon, while I was shopping before shabbos.

I responded to her text and asked her if she would like to join me for a zumba class that Sunday coming up on the weekend.  She sounded very interested and wanted to know where that class was taking place.  So I gave her instructions and she told me she would sign up for a free pass.  As far as I knew that Friday, we were confirmed to meet with each other at the gym for a class and talk with each other afterwards.  I felt very happy that she felt compelled to contact me to help her out.  So shabbos started later on that evening, and I ended up telling TINA that we could talk on Saturday night.

On Saturday night after shabbos about 8:30pm I sent TINA a text to talk some more in order to find out what time I was going to meet her on Sunday, the following day.  She sent me a text about an hour later to let me know she would contact me in the morning.  So the next day on Sunday, I prepared my gym bag as usual and turned on my phone to let Tina know I am ready to speak to her.  I called her around 9am and sent her a text to find out the details to where I was going to meet her.

I never heard back from her and it was 9:30am.  I left to the gym.  As I walked to the mall to go to 24 hour fitness, I tried calling Tina one more time.  Yet, still no answer!  So I went to my class and was not going to let this interupt my day.

I spent time enjoying my favorite Zumba class, working out and going to the pool, hot tub etc.  I had a great time.  Oh well, I thought!  Perhaps something happened to Tina's family or something unexpected came up.  Ok so I let it all go.

However, what does it mean to be Responsible, Trustworthy and Dependable?  I give this particular scenario as an example because it is very recent, and this kind of stuff happens so often with people.

My question is WHY don't people call to cancel appointments or even let the other person know they are not comfortable with their expectations for the meeting etc.?

We all have FEARs of all kinds: hurt, anger, frustration, worry, anxiety and so on.  Yet, we must learn that it is really important and OKAY to tell our feelings to the people we are involved with no matter what the relationship is, whether it is our spouse, friends, parents, colleagues, bosses etc.

We all have a right to vent our emotions to anyone that we are supposed to meet with in any situation even if it is totally uncomfortable.  Otherwise, nobody can help that person out with their questions or understanding of their challenges.

I would love to find out more feedback and connect with other wonderful people out there!  Have an amazing day!

What are the most important vegetables to eat everyday?

There are lots of vegetables out in the market and all of them are very healthy.  However, my personal trainer, and other friends that are very committed to a healthy lifestyle and fitness say that the Green Veggies are the most important ones for a daily balanced diet.

The green vegetables that I like most in my special lifestyle diet include: Collards, Chard, Spinach, Broccoli, Cauliflower, and many more, but I like these the most in my salads or cooked.  By eating these kinds of vegetables everyday, you will feel a great deal of energy in your body.  I have been doing my research and experimenting on my own health for quite a few years since my mother passed away in 2007 from diabetes.

I was so afraid of getting that kind of disease because it does run in my family.  I realized in April 2010 that I needed to learn more about better health and foods to correct my diet.  So I joined Penni Shelton's website: www.rawfoodrehab.com   It helped to get me started on my road to feeling better about my health and diet.

There is a lot of information out there to learn about helping your illnesses and having patients to cure yourself naturally before running to a doctor.  I can only tell you that learning about vegetarian foods have really helped me with my diet, fitness, energy and growth in pure health.  I am totally able to control my symptoms of IBS and other issues.

What are your favorite dark green veggies?  Learn to add more of them to your salads throughout your daily lifestyle.  Let me know how you feel!  Send me your feedback on your improvements of your health!  Linda@centerforselfimprovementinc.com

I love being a Wellness Coach!

Ever since I searched for diets to help me lose weight and worried about my health for a few years after my mother passed away from diabetes in 2007, the law of attraction brought me a link to better a better lifestyle.  I was about 152 lbs and over weight for my height as well as health.  I also did not feel too well because of having IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome).  It was painful!

One day while I was surfing the web and shopping around, my facebook page flashed me a link to Raw Food Rehab.  I decided to check it out to see what kind of diet this was in April 2010.  I saw a photo of Raw veggies in salads as well as green smoothies.  I thought to myself that I really did not think I could actually live on "Rabbit Food", but I started to watch the videos and read the blogs on www.rawfoodrehab.com   I found a new friendly "home" for safe learning to care for one self in many different ways.

I started learning about drinking Green Smoothies made of spinach and fruit.  I also began to learn about becoming alkaline with fresh squeezed lemonade.  I began to look around for a juicer and found myself engaging in lots of interesting conversations with people.  Gradually, my stomach started to feel better and I was also noticing some changes in my moods for the better.

After about one month, I decided to check my scale just to see if anything change in my weight loss.  I noticed that I lost 5 pounds just from lowering my intake of food and constantly drinking green smoothies.  I was slowly making my transformation into becoming a Raw vegetarian.  I drink green smoothies all the time.

I realized my body felt better, and I was feeling a lot healthier too.  I found out ways to lower my intake of delicious chocolate by making raw apple pie, which is healthier and contains less calories.

I ended up loosing 30 pounds by 2012.  This is one of my transformations for a healthier lifestyle.

Today, I continue living an 80% vegetarian lifestyle and happily live in California where health is WEALTH!

Now I can help others to heal themselves as well as lose weight etc.
